We are familiar with the name Amazon, the biggest market in international sales. We also know its working style and its benefits throughout the world. There is an interesting story behind this scenario. First, it had another name, and then it shifted to Amazon.

Original name: Cadabara

Jeff Bezos discovered this app and thought of the idea of Amazon, although he did not think of its name as Amazon. Under the company of Cadabra, he named it "abracadabra" which means a magic word. In the nineties, in Washington, the company was registered with different names. But Cadabara was accepted at that time. Why did he choose the word "abracadabra"? Because behind this, he had a vision that there should be online selling stores as if by magic. But over time, Cadabra faced various difficulties due to its name, and it could not catch due to its original name. There is an incident behind changing its name. As a lawyer misunderstood it as "corpse." Now there was a need to change its name so that it would not face further problems in the coming future due to any confusion. Now Jeff Bezos was trying to find a new name for Cadabra.

They were thinking about replacing Cadabara with a word related to magic. Although it was difficult to find a name that could fulfill all the requirements, they did their best. Jeff Bezos and his wife Mackenzie Scott started registering different domains on the internet with many ideas. Initially, they selected the words like Awake, Browse, Book Mall, or Relentless. But they realized their company name had to start with an A since sites were listed alphabetically.

They searched the words in the dictionary with A, and then they came up with Amazon means the largest river on the earth. It perfectly symbolized their idea of selling throughout the world. By then, Amazon pretended to be a giant bookstore, so it was a good idea to replace Cadabara with Amazon. Then they registered the domain of the new perfect word Amazon at the end of 1994. After a few months, it officially presented to the world and became the best online store. Now it is not only an online bookstore but also has multiple online shopping services like Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, Amazon Photos, and Amazon Drive. Now the word "Amazon" fits the alternative of "magic" by Jeff Bezos.
